![]() Allison distinguished herself as the leading interpreter of Erdman’s dance repertory from the 1940s and 1950s, producing the three-volume video archive Dance and Myth: The World of Jean Erdman. As a young professional dancer she joined the Theater of the Open Eye in New York City, founded by choreographer Jean Erdman and the late Joseph Campbell. While at Ohio University she augmented her study of dance with courses in philosophy and psychology. She graduated with honors from Ohio University with a B.F.A. She performed during her childhood with the National Ballet of Washington, DC, and with Moscow’s world-renowned Bolshoi Ballet during its 1963 American tour. This interest led her to pursue a career in dance.
